ABOUT THE TRIBAL TRADING POST:
The Tribal Trading Post is an American Indian-owned business on the Soboba Indian Reservation which is located in the USA in Riverside County between Los Angeles and San Diego counties in beautiful Southern California.
The Tribal Trading Post (tribaltradingpost.com & tribaltp.com) was established by Ernie Salgado, Jr. (Soboba tribe) in December of 2012 as an on-line Native American Indian trading post — a virtual Indian store specializing in authentic Native American arts and crafts — we buy and sell new, used and antique genuine Native American art objects.
MADE IN AMERICA:
We are unique among Native American Indian trading posts because our business is physically located on the Soboba Indian Reservation within the County of Riverside in the Southwestern region of the United States. Federally-recognized North American Indian tribes indigenous to this area include the Luiseño, Kumeyaay, Cahullia, Cupeño, Apache, Navajo (Diné), Pueblo, Zuni, Iipay-Tiipay, Cocopah, Quechan, Mission Indians....
INDIAN ARTS & CRAFTS ACT OF 1990:
AUTHENTICATION: Our Tribal arts and crafts are "made in America" by American Indian and Alaska Native tribal members and will be certified in compliance with the U.S. Department of the Interior's Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 (Public Law 101-644). PL 101-644 is a truth-in-advertising law that prohibits misrepresentation in the marketing of Indian arts and crafts products within the United States. This law makes it illegal to offer or display for sale, or sell any art or craft product in a manner that falsely suggests it is Indian produced, an Indian product, or the product of a particular Indian or Indian tribe or Indian arts and crafts organization, resident within the United States.
MISSION STATEMENT:
Our mission is to provide the Native American Tribal Community and non-Indian vendors with the unique opportunity to participate in the world market with their goods and services which they might not have otherwise.
A major portion of the net income from Tribal Trading Post sales will go to the support of American Indian Education.
COLLABORATING PARTNERS (OUR NETWORK):
Our affiliated websites include Ahmium Learning Center, Inc. (established 1975), the California Indian Education website (61 million hits), and the Kumeyaay Information Village website (140 million hits).
CALIE.ORG currently collaborates with the 30 California Indian Education Centers established by the California Department of Education; the Southern California Tribal Chairmen’s Association, Inc. (SCTCA); and the 27 Tribal Governments located in Southern California.
Through this enormous California Indian Network, we reach a select group of Tribal leaders & members, casino managers & guests, community leaders, students & teachers, government representatives, including non-Tribal people, shoppers, from around the world who are interested in Native American culture and buying authentic "Made in America" Tribal art.
